About CG Associates CG Associates is a membership scheme for artists, writers and independent curators working in contemporary art. It is aimed at artists, writers and curators consciously making and exhibiting work as part of an ongoing critical debate about the direction of contemporary art. CG Associates was set up in 2012 by Castlefield Gallery to provide members with information, skills, opportunities, resources, promotion and critical dialogue. The CG Associates scheme acts as a hub, bringing together artists, curators and writers, facilitating critical exchange and engagement with members’ work and strengthening the artistic ecology of the North West. How to get your art exhibited There are many avenues for an artist to pursue in order to get work exhibited. Much depends on your career to-date, the nature of the work you make, and the area in which you live. I am becoming more aware of where I live will impact opportunities  for me as an recent graduate, I have always lived in south  Manchester so I am fortunate that I am not far away from the city centre, I will still consider other cities, but I know that Manchester is a good place for artists.  Getting taken on by a gallery happens through networking, word of mouth, introduction, or having seen the work of an artist. Schol scheme proposal ideas

How would I use the scholarship grant? I could put it towards going to shows I want to see in the next 12 months- maybe the venice biennial or  Artist training, be trained in painting and or animation, look for short courses.  I could put the money towards an exhibtion solo or joint exhibtion. 

Caustic coastal studios- Salford

Studios   Caustic Coastal has 17 studio spaces available in our new warehouse at Unit 2, Regents Trading Estate, Oldfield Road, Salford.  15 purpose built studios are housed in the main warehouse space and 2 pre-existing spaces underneath the gallery space.  Applications for our studios can be made using the form below. All studios in the warehouse space include 3m high 12mm MDF walls, and all apart from the double include storage racking which the studios are built around reaching 5m high. The warehouse has skylights alongside bright energy efficient lighting across the whole space. Large warehouse doors allow access with vans or lorries and there is free car parking in our courtyard. We also have a small kitchenette and toilet underneath the gallery space. Bankley studios and art gallery

Bankley studios  Studios The studio currently has over 30 Artists in residence working across a range of disciplines including painting, textiles, photography, installation, sculpture and ceramics. The studios are located in Levenshulme, Manchester and were set up in 1992, officially becoming a co-operative in 1998. Each year there is an Open Studios event which enables the public a view into the individual work spaces of the resident Artists over one weekend.
